The Iowa Beef Center at Iowa State University, in collaboration with the South Dakota State University Beef Extension, will host a Precision Livestock Technology Field Day on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mud Ridge Ranch, located at 1582 200th Street, Red Oak, Iowa.
This free educational event will spotlight the latest advancements in precision beef technologies that are transforming livestock management. A key feature will be SDSU’s technology trailer, which provides hands-on demonstrations of modern tools designed to improve efficiency, animal health, and profitability for beef producers.
Experts from both universities will discuss real-world applications of precision livestock systems, including data-driven tools for feed management, animal monitoring, and pasture optimization. The goal is to help farmers and ranchers better understand how to integrate these innovations into their operations for improved decision-making and resource use.
The field day is open to all beef producers, students, and agricultural professionals interested in learning how technology is reshaping the beef industry. Attendees will have the chance to network with university specialists, industry partners, and fellow producers to exchange insights and experiences.
