National FFA Names New Student Leaders

By Jamie Martin

National FFA delegates have selected a new team of student leaders to serve as the organization's national officers for 2026-27.

The announcement was made during the closing session of the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo held in Indianapolis. The election marked the conclusion of a thorough selection process that identified six individuals who will help guide the organization through the coming year.

Students from six states were chosen to fill the national leadership positions. The officers represent diverse regions of the United States and bring experience from local FFA chapters and agricultural education programs.

Before being elected, candidates participated in an extensive evaluation process overseen by the National FFA Officer Nominating Committee. A total of 41 candidates competed for the opportunity to serve in the national leadership team.

The newly elected officers are:

  • Josie Jennings of Ohio was elected national president. She is a member of the Global Impact FFA Chapter.
  • Cameron Addington of Minnesota was elected national secretary. He is a member of the Cannon Falls FFA Chapter.
  • Aiden Manley of Kentucky was elected eastern region vice president. He is a member of the Menifee County FFA Chapter.
  • Joshua Nelson of Idaho was elected western region vice president. He is a member of the Troy FFA Chapter.
  • Jazmin Palma of North Carolina was elected southern region vice president. She is a member of the Uwharrie Charter Academy FFA Chapter.
  • Teagan Erbele of North Dakota was elected central region vice president. She is a member of the Napoleon FFA Chapter.

The National FFA officer structure includes a president, secretary and four regional vice presidents. These positions provide leadership and support for members while helping advance the goals of the organization.

Throughout their term, the officers will engage with students, educators, business leaders, and agricultural professionals. They will participate in conferences, leadership events, and educational programs designed to strengthen opportunities for FFA members.

One of their primary responsibilities is helping young people develop leadership skills and confidence. Officers share their personal experiences, encourage student involvement, and serve as role models for future leaders in agriculture.

The team will also work closely with partners from industry, education, and government. These relationships help expand educational opportunities and enhance awareness about careers connected to agriculture and food production.

FFA has long emphasized leadership development as part of agricultural education. The national officer program gives students an opportunity to represent their peers while contributing to the growth and direction of the organization.

As ambassadors for FFA, the officers will travel across the nation to connect with local chapters and members. Their interactions help strengthen engagement and encourage students to take advantage of leadership and career development opportunities.

The election also highlights the importance of youth involvement in agriculture. By preparing students for leadership roles, FFA helps build a strong future workforce for the agricultural industry.

Over the next year, the officer team will lead leadership conferences, support organizational initiatives, and help communicate the value of agricultural education. Their work will focus on encouraging personal growth, community involvement, and career success among FFA members.

With representatives from different regions working together, the new officer team reflects the broad reach of FFA and its continued commitment to developing future agricultural leaders. As they begin their term, the officers will help carry forward the organization's mission of leadership, education and service for students nationwide.
