The Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach dairy team will continue its Dairy Goat Webinar Series in 2025, offering valuable insights for producers and industry professionals.
The webinars, scheduled from 12 to 1:15 p.m. Central time, cover essential topics, including herd health, nutrition, and financial management.
Jenn Bentley, a dairy field specialist with ISU Extension, emphasized the importance of dairy goat production in Iowa, highlighting the program’s aim to provide practical and actionable information to producers.
The webinar series features expert speakers and addresses key topics, including:
Jan. 15: Dairy Goat Profit Analysis – Larry Tranel
Feb. 5: Care of Neonatal Goats – Rachel Friedrich, DVM
March 19: Utilizing Feed Test Results – Laura Keiser
April 16: Buck Management – Carolyn Ihde
May: Antimicrobial Stewardship – Pat Gorden, DVM
Oct. 14: Animal Welfare – Michelle Buckley, DVM
Nov. 18: Reproductive Management – Rosie Busch, DVM
Additional topics for September and December will be announced later.
There is no fee to attend these webinars, but participants must register online or by contacting Jennifer Bentley. Registrants will receive information to join the sessions and updates on future webinars.
Supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Sustainable Agricultural Systems project, this initiative aims to enhance dairy goat production practices, ensuring sustainable and efficient operations.
Producers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to gain expert insights and practical tools for better dairy goat management throughout 2025.
