Grant Writing 101 Virtual for Madison County
Iowa Ag Connection - 05/20/2020

Grant Writing 101 is the latest program from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Community and Economic Development to be offered virtually. In the age of social distancing, CED specialists continue to adapt to the changing needs of Iowans.

ISU Extension and Outreach staff will present the first virtual Grant Writing 101 workshop to representatives of nonprofits, local government, schools and other organizations in Madison County on Thursday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program is being sponsored by ISU Extension and Outreach Madison County and ISU Extension and Outreach CED.

Community development specialists Jane Nolan Goeken and Eric Christianson will present Grant Writing 101. Both have extensive experience writing and reviewing grant applications and working with various federal, state, local and private foundation grant programs. During this hands-on training session, Goeken and Christianson will assist workshop participants in exploring various public and private funding sources, and provide instruction and tips on planning projects and writing successful grant applications.

The workshop is free, but registration is required by May 19. (Note: Class size is limited and registrations will no longer be accepted once the class is full.) Registration can be completed online through ISU Conference Planning and Management (https://bit.ly/GWMadison). Registrants will receive instructions for using the online platform (Adobe Connect) as well as workshop handouts via email prior to the workshop date.

Communities and organizations interested in scheduling a workshop should contact Jane Goeken at jngoeken@iastate.edu or 712-240-2504.
