Singh’s leadership will guide CALS’ research initiatives, focusing on impactful solutions, resource optimization, and graduate program excellence.

Under his direction, Singh aims to collaborate with faculty and department chairs to amplify research resources, expand the scope of projects, and enhance innovation across the college.

“We are fortunate to have researchers recognized locally and globally,” Singh said. “I look forward to supporting their continued excellence and service to stakeholders.”

Singh’s credentials include a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from India, a master’s from the University of Saskatchewan, and a doctorate from the University of Guelph. As a leader on over 70 competitive research grants, Singh has secured $100 million in awards and contributed to the development of more than 70 wheat and soybean cultivars.

Among his accolades, Singh holds the G.F. Sprague Chair, is a Fellow of the Crop Science Society of America, and leads the award-winning Soynomics research group. His teaching excellence and groundbreaking work have solidified his reputation as a leader in agricultural innovation.
