JCB has introduced two new skid steer loaders aimed at helping North American farmers manage material-handling tasks more efficiently. The new 250 and 290 models expand the company's compact equipment lineup and offer a combination of performance, versatility, and ease of operation.
Modern farms increasingly require equipment that can handle multiple tasks without sacrificing productivity. The new JCB loaders are engineered to meet those expectations by supporting numerous attachments and delivering dependable performance across a variety of agricultural applications.

Powered by a 74-horsepower engine, both machines are capable of handling demanding everyday jobs. Farmers can use the loaders for feeding livestock, moving hay, loading pallets, transporting materials, cleaning facilities, and many other common farm activities.
A standout feature of the new models is JCB's single-arm boom design. The design improves visibility around the machine, helping operators monitor work areas more effectively. It also provides side-door cab access, allowing operators to enter and exit without climbing over attached equipment.
This unique design supports both convenience and safety. Quick and easy cab entry can save time during busy workdays while reducing the challenges associated with repeatedly climbing in and out of machinery.
The 250 and 290 models enter a new mid-size category for JCB and are designed to offer the right balance of power and maneuverability. This makes them suitable for a broad range of agricultural environments where space can be limited, but lifting performance remains essential.
The loaders offer strong lifting capabilities. The 250 has a rated operating capacity of approximately 2,531 pounds, while the 290 can handle about 3,029 pounds. Both machines feature hinge pin heights above 10 feet, creating additional reach for loading and stacking tasks.
These capabilities are valuable for handling feed ingredients, seeds, fertilizers, hay, and other agricultural materials. Producers can also use the machines to load trucks and trailers while maintaining efficient workflow throughout the day.
High-flow hydraulic systems allow compatibility with a variety of skid steer attachments. This flexibility helps farmers maximize machine use and reduce the need for multiple specialized pieces of equipment.
Another advantage is the compact footprint of the machines. Operators can move comfortably through barns, commodity sheds, livestock facilities, and other confined locations where larger equipment may be less practical.
