The price of regular unleaded gasoline rose 21 cents, averaging $3.18 across Iowa according to AAA.
The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $3.47 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $73.99.
Brent crude oil fell $3.16 and is currently priced at $78.98.
One year ago, WTI crude sold for $77.85 and Brent crude was at $80.60.
As of Thursday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.18 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices rose 21 cents from last week's price and 12 cents lower than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.29 up 16 cents from last week's price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa were steady this week with a statewide average of $4.26. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.33 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 43 cents less than the national average of $4.69.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.25 for U87-E10, $2.21 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.99 for ULSD#2, $3.88 for ULSD#1, and $2.47 per gallon for E-70 prices. Heating Fuels
Propane prices were steady with a statewide average of $1.94 per gallon.
Home heating oil prices rose 1 cent, with a statewide average of $3.65 per gallon.
Natural gas prices fell $.79 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $3.74/MMbtu
