The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Washington County, together with the Washington County Women in Agriculture Advisory Board, will host the 2025 Women in Ag Farm Crawl on Friday, Aug. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“This event is a great opportunity for women in agriculture to network and learn from various farming operations together,” said Rebecca Vittetoe, ISU extension field agronomist.
The tour includes four stops in northern Washington County and southern Johnson County.
The first stop, West Fork Farmstead in West Chester, is a multigenerational family farm run by Brian and Nancy Wilson and their daughters Claire and Natasha. Their operation features grass-fed beef, heritage pork, pastured poultry, and raw honey.
Next, participants will briefly visit the Twin County Produce Auction before heading to Stringtown Grocery in Kalona, a traditional Amish store.
Lunch will be served at Miller Homestead Cooking in Kalona, where guests will enjoy a homemade Amish meal and can shop for jams and fresh bread.
The final stop is HB Flowers and Beef LLC in Tiffin, where owners will showcase their homegrown flowers and beef production. Cut flower arrangements will be available for purchase.
Registration is $50 and includes transportation and lunch. Participants must register online or call 319-653-4811. Spots are limited and close by Aug. 14 or when filled.
The event is made possible by ISU Extension and Outreach and the Azariah and Martha Foster Heritage Endowment.
