The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has announced its 2025 Lenders of the Year, recognizing the top lending partners who helped rural Iowans achieve homeownership.
These partners played a vital role through the Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Program, designed to assist those who may not qualify for traditional home loans.
Henry Kummerer, USDA Rural Development’s Deputy State Director for Iowa, emphasized the importance of supporting rural communities. “We encourage investment in rural communities and design our programs to help open the door to homeownership for Iowans who might not otherwise qualify for traditional home financing,” he said.
The top five lenders in Iowa for 2025 are:
- Residential Mortgage Network Inc.
- Flanagan State Bank
- Neighbors Bank
- United Bank of Iowa
- Castle & Cook Mortgage, LLC
These institutions have worked closely with USDA to provide essential financing solutions and strengthen local economies across the state.
USDA’s national office also recognized several lenders with the Top Local Lender Champion Awards:
- 1st: HR Mortgage Corp (Puerto Rico)
- 2nd: Gum Tree Mortgage (Mississippi)
- 3rd: Jersey Shore State Bank (Pennsylvania)
- 4th: Metroplex Mortgage Services (Florida)
- 5th: Bangor Savings Bank (Maine)
USDA values its partnerships with lenders nationwide and continues to support rural housing efforts across the U.S. To explore more or subscribe to updates, visit the USDA Rural Development GovDelivery page.
