The I-29 Moo University and Northern Plains Forage Association’s Forage Webinar Series will continue on June 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., bringing key forage-related updates and safety insights to farmers and producers.
This free webinar features three expert presentations covering current forage conditions, hay market projections, and round baler safety. The goal is to support producers with practical advice as they navigate the growing season.
Amber Friedrichsen, editor of Hay & Forage Grower, will discuss alfalfa growing conditions, harvest status, and recent forage test results. A 2023 Iowa State graduate in agronomy and ag communications, Friedrichsen brings hands-on farm experience to her insights.
Fred Hall, extension dairy specialist in northwest Iowa, will offer a detailed hay market outlook, touching on hay exports, pricing trends, stocks, and future demand. His presentation will help producers plan effectively for changing market conditions.
Phil Kaatz, extension educator from Michigan State University, will focus on the importance of safety when using round balers. Kaatz will emphasize how the cost of equipment compares to the serious impact of farming accidents, reinforcing the need for safety on every farm.
Although the webinar is free, participants must register online at least one hour before the event begins.
