Farmers Join NRCS Field Day in Northeast Iowa

By Andi Anderson

The Northeast Iowa Dairy & Agriculture Foundation is set to host the NRCS Field Day and Annual Meeting on Tuesday, February 11, at the Wilder Business Center. The event begins at 9 a.m. and is free to attend, with lunch provided.

This year’s Field Day theme, Roots and Ruminants: Maximizing Farm Productivity, will focus on innovative farming techniques. Experts, including Brian Dougherty, Daniel Olson, and Eric Fuchs, will discuss essential topics such as manure management, digestible fiber for livestock, and grazing cover crops.

An afternoon session led by Iowa dairy farmer Dan Venteicher will explore the role of social media in agriculture. He will share insights on how farmers can use digital platforms to connect, educate, and grow their businesses.

The Northeast Iowa Dairy & Agriculture Foundation’s annual meeting will begin at 3 p.m. The session will include a business meeting and the election of board members, offering attendees a chance to engage in the foundation’s future planning.

The event is open to all individuals interested in dairy farming and agriculture. Thanks to generous community sponsors, there is no cost to attend.

Farmers, industry professionals, and students are encouraged to join, gain valuable knowledge, and network with experts in the field.
