The price of regular unleaded gasoline fell 16 cents, averaging $2.91 across Iowa according to AAA.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $4.70 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $77.29.
Brent crude oil rose $4.79 and currently priced at $82.76.
One year ago, WTI crude sold for $70.73 and Brent crude was at $73.37.
As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.91 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 16 cents from last week's price and 14 cents lower than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.21 down 15 cents from last week's price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 21 cents this week with a statewide average of $4.49. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.33 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 37 cents less than the national average of $4.86.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.91 for U87-E10, $2.19 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.83 for ULSD#2, $3.85 for ULSD#1, and $2.26 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Propane prices held steady with a statewide average of $1.94 per gallon.
Home heating oil prices fell 4 cents, with a statewide average of $4.07 per gallon.
Natural gas prices rose $.90 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $6.39/MMbtu Tips for saving energy on the road or at home are available at fueleconomy.gov.
