The price of regular unleaded gasoline fell 5 cents, averaging $2.86 across Iowa according to AAA.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.91 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $78.20.
Brent crude oil fell $.64 and is currently priced at $82.12.
One year ago, WTI crude sold for $71.12 and Brent crude was at $72.85.
As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.86 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 5 cents from last week's price and 17 cents lower than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.11 down 10 cents from last week's price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 16 cents this week with a statewide average of $4.33. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.32 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 40 cents less than the national average of $4.73.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.03 for U87-E10, $2.32 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.79 for ULSD#2, $3.64 for ULSD#1, and $2.26 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Propane prices were down 1 cent with a statewide average of $1.93 per gallon.
Home heating oil prices fell 53 cents, with a statewide average of $3.54 per gallon.
Natural gas prices fell $.86 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $5.53/MMbtu Tips for saving energy on the road or at home are available at fueleconomy.gov.
