Salvador to Share Remarks at Iowa Farmers Union State Convention



Iowa Farmers Union announced the keynote speaker at its annual state convention Dec. 2-3 at the Iowa Valley Continuing Education Conference Center in Marshalltown will be Dr. Ricardo Salvador, director of the Food and Environment Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists. He will offer his keynote address to the convention body Dec 3 at 1 p.m. CT.

"We're so happy that Dr. Salvador will be joining us in Marshalltown to share his vision on a more sustainable and socially equitable food system," says Aaron Lehman, president of the Iowa Farmers Union. "His Iowa roots are deep and his leadership in these areas is unmatched. Voices like Dr. Salvador's are vital in helping to find the path forward."

Dr. Ricardo Salvador is the senior scientist and director of the Food and Environment Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists. He has over four decades of experience working with citizens, scientists, economists, and politicians to transition our current food system into one that grows healthy foods while employing sustainable and socially equitable practices.

The Iowa Farmers Union State Convention is a chance for members from all over Iowa to connect with one another, hear from world-renowned speakers, attend educational sessions, and influence changes made to our guiding policy.
