Registration is now open for the 2024 National Agricultural Marketing Summit, taking place from November 13 to 15 at the Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid North in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
This summit offers a unique opportunity for agricultural marketing practitioners to connect, share insights, and discover new strategies for enhancing their farms and businesses.
The theme of this year’s summit, "Food with Purpose," emphasizes practical marketing solutions. Participants will have the chance to engage with various businesses, organizations, and USDA representatives.
According to Bre Miller, a communications specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, the summit is designed to offer actionable advice for improving marketing strategies and decision-making through effective use of data.
This summit caters to a wide audience, including small-to-large-scale farmers, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies involved in food systems and agricultural development.
Attendees will learn how to build effective partnerships between the public and private sectors, improving the local food economy and strengthening community collaboration.
Courtney Long, food systems program manager with ISU Extension and Outreach, highlights the summit’s focus on networking.
“We want attendees to build lasting connections, whether through exhibitor sessions, receptions, or the awards banquet,” she says. Networking is a core component of the event, creating opportunities for collaboration across sectors.
The summit features a range of breakout sessions and plenary discussions, covering topics like direct market development, risk management, and urban agriculture best practices.
Notably, one of the plenary sessions, "Urban Agriculture: A Growing Movement," will explore how urban farming connects local food systems with underserved populations.
Registration for the summit is open through November 13, with scholarships available for students.
