Jocelyn Anderson leads with green thumb

Jocelyn Anderson leads with green thumb

By Jamie Martin

Jocelyn Anderson, a fourth-generation farmer from California, has become a notable figure in agricultural advocacy through her active participation in the Farm Bureau.

Farming almonds and walnuts on her family's farm, she also operates a walnut huller. Her journey in advocacy began with her role on the AFBF Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee and the California YF&R Committee, where she held significant leadership positions including committee chair and vice chair.

Her mantra, "Just say YES!" to involvement, has opened many doors for her to connect with a broad network of agricultural professionals across the country. These connections have been instrumental in advancing her advocacy work, educating the public about sustainable and climate-smart agricultural practices.

During her time on the AFBF YF&R committee, Jocelyn was encouraged to emphasize the importance of advocacy and joining membership organizations that safeguard the future of family farms. Her efforts have not only enhanced her leadership skills but have also allowed her to share innovative farming technologies with a wider audience.

Now serving as the 1st vice president of the Glenn County Farm Bureau and a board member for her local California Resource Conservation District, Jocelyn continues to inspire others at both the local and national levels.

Through her leadership, she demonstrates the impact that dedicated involvement in agricultural organizations can have on promoting sustainable practices and protecting farming legacies.
