Iowa Farm Bureau Appoints New District Representatives to Young Farmer Committee

Iowa Farm Bureau's Young Farmer Advisory Committee recently welcomed three new couples to serve as district representatives for a three-year term. The committee's primary objective is to bring young farmers together through networking and educational events, including organizing the annual Iowa Farm Bureau Young Farmer Conference.

Representing District 9 in southwest Iowa, Tyler and Abby Woodward grow corn and soybeans on their fourth-generation farm. Tyler is actively involved in local farming organizations, while Abby participates in philanthropic organizations and volunteers at school events.

Matt and Hilary Lanman, representing District 7 in southeast Iowa, raise meat goats and operate a lawncare business. Matt is a volunteer firefighter, while Hilary is heavily involved in 4-H, Ag in the Classroom and her church.

Michael McEnany and Ashley Thompson, representing District 5 in central Iowa, raise cow-calf pairs and sell beef directly to customers. Michael works for a local farmer, while Ashley works as a program specialist at Iowa State University and at a popular barbecue destination.

The newly appointed district representatives are well-equipped to represent young farmers and make a meaningful impact on the future of Iowa's agricultural industry. Iowa Farm Bureau's Young Farmer Advisory Committee plays a critical role in supporting and empowering young farmers in the state, and the committee's efforts are sure to have a positive impact on the industry's future.
