Two-day event for dairy professionals and farmers.

By Andi Anderson

The Iowa Dairy Industry Doubleheader, a two-day event for dairy professionals, farmers, and stakeholders, is scheduled for November 1-2, 2024.

This exciting event is organized by the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Dairy Team and the Dairy Science Club at Iowa State University, offering participants a balance of learning and socializing.

The first day, Friday, November 1, will focus on professional development with a workshop at the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association headquarters in Ankeny. Titled “Professional Development for Iowa Dairy Industry Consultants,” this session will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Attendees will engage in hands-on learning sessions, listen to presentations from industry experts, and learn about the latest trends in dairy management.

The day will close with a social hour sponsored by Elanco Animal Health, providing additional time for attendees to network.

The second day of the event, Saturday, November 2, will be a more relaxed affair, taking place at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames for the Iowa Dairy Industry Tailgate.

This tailgate event, held before the Iowa State Cyclones football game, will bring together students, farmers, industry professionals, faculty, and alumni for food, drinks, and casual networking.

The Iowa State Dairy Science Club will also hold its annual alumni reunion, creating opportunities for attendees to reconnect with old colleagues and meet new ones.

The Iowa Dairy Industry Doubleheader is designed to offer both educational development and fun social events for those connected to the dairy industry.
