Feedlot Forum 2025 highlights Ag market trends and profitability

By Andi Anderson

Feedlot Forum 2025, an annual event for the agricultural community, will take place on January 14 in Sioux Center. The forum will provide valuable insights into market trends, profitability, and the impact of economic and policy changes on agriculture over the next 18 months.

One of the event's key speakers is Chad Hart, a nationally recognized agricultural market economist from Iowa State University.

Hart will address critical topics, including the effects of inflation, exchange rates, international trade, and government policies on the livestock and crop sectors. His analysis will explore how global and domestic economic shifts could shape the agricultural market.

Beth Doran, a beef specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, highlighted Hart’s deep understanding of the ag commodity markets. “With his background in cattle farming and experience in the food supply chain, Chad brings a unique perspective to these discussions,” she said.

Hart’s presentation is one of five topics on the forum’s agenda, making it a must-attend event for farmers, students, and industry professionals. Participants will gain actionable knowledge to navigate the challenges and opportunities within the agricultural sector.

Registration for Feedlot Forum 2025 is open until January 6. Fees are $25 per adult and $10 per student. Interested attendees can find the full agenda and registration details on the event’s website.

This event promises to equip participants with valuable insights to plan for the future, ensuring profitability and resilience in the ever-changing agricultural landscape.
