• Iowa Woodland Owners Association Fall Forestry Field Day (September 14): Explore the history and significance of Ledges State Park while learning about trees that span centuries. From ancient trees to savanna and prairie restoration, this event showcases the multi-faceted aspects of Iowa's woodland ecosystem. Featuring presentations from multiple entities, this day promises a comprehensive understanding of forestry conservation.
• Yellow River State Forest Field Day (September 19): This event offers an intriguing focus on forest change and management. Participants will witness the evolution of forest stands over time, visiting areas that are 5, 10, and 50 years post-management.
