Exciting Prairie and Forestry Field Day in Iowa!

Exciting Prairie and Forestry Field Day in Iowa!

Don't miss the Iowa Learning Farms' prairie and forestry field day on August 22nd from 5-7 p.m., hosted at the Boehm Farm near Wadena. Farmers and landowners are invited to this complimentary event that includes a delicious meal.

Eric Boehm, an Iowa Learning Farms farmer partner, will share insights on prairie and forestry management. Tim Youngquist from Iowa State University's STRIPS program will discuss best practices for prairie establishment and pollinator conservation.

Dave Asche, the Clayton County district forester, will provide valuable guidance on forestry management under the Conservation Stewardship Program and managing pollinator habitats (CP42). Furthermore, Adam Janke, an associate professor at Iowa State, will lead a tour highlighting the benefits of these habitats.

Join the field day at 12663 D Ave., Wadena. From Wadena, head 2 miles south on D Ave, or travel 4.5 miles north on D Ave from Arlington. The farm is on the west side of the road.

Reserve your spot to ensure space and food. Contact Alena Whitaker at 515-294-2473 or ilf@iastate.edu. Attendees get a chance to win ISU Prairie Strips honey.

Iowa Learning Farms thanks the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service for their generous support. To learn more, visit www.iowalearningfarms.org. This is an incredible opportunity to gain valuable knowledge while enjoying a day at Boehm Farm!
