Iowa State University will celebrate ISU Extension and Outreach Week from April 7 to 12, with events across all 100 counties. The week highlights the university’s commitment to education, agriculture, and community development.
Throughout the week, each county extension office will host “I Spy Cy” activities and educational programs. These events are designed to thank Iowans for their continued support and participation in ISU Extension and Outreach initiatives.
County staff and extension council members will express appreciation to the many individuals who attend local programs, as well as to volunteers, community leaders, and partner organizations. Their contributions help make extension efforts successful in local communities.
The celebration also provides a chance for families and students to learn more about agriculture, science, youth programs, and other services offered by ISU Extension and Outreach. From hands-on workshops to informational sessions, events will be fun, engaging, and educational.
ISU Extension and Outreach is part of the federal Cooperative Extension Service, a national network of over 100 land-grant institutions. It works in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to support rural and urban communities through education and outreach.
Every Iowa county has an elected extension council that helps guide local programming. These councils decide how to best use university resources to serve community needs.
Extension programs play an important role in connecting people with university-based knowledge. They support farmers, youth through 4-H, local businesses, and families with information that helps improve lives.
For details about events near you, contact your local ISU Extension and Outreach county office. Staff are available to help residents find programs that match their interests and needs.
ISU Extension and Outreach Week is a time to recognize the power of education, partnership, and community involvement. It reflects Iowa’s strong tradition of learning, service, and agricultural support.
