The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Dairy Team invites dairy producers, heifer growers, and agribusiness personnel to the 2025 Dairy Directions Series. Sessions will take place on Jan. 7 in Sac City and Jan. 8 in Pocahontas.
This year’s series will focus on key topics, including cyber security and AI on the farm, a water outlook, a commodity market update, and a review of Iowa State University dairy research and production updates.
Fred Hall, a dairy specialist with ISU Extension, emphasized the importance of staying ahead in technology and protecting investments. “Dairy producers have been technology leaders for years. Now, it’s time to strengthen digital protections against cyber threats,” Hall explained.

Matt Helmers, an agricultural and biosystems engineering professor, will provide insights into climate change’s effects on water availability.
Rusty Burgett, ISU farms director, will share updates on the ISU dairy’s production and research.
