Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway Following Championship Weekend
Iowa Ag Connection - 12/05/2018

Dr Pepper celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Tuition Giveaway during College Football Conference Championship weekend by awarding $1 million in tuition to students who competed at halftime during five marquee games. Five students took home $100,000 in tuition grand prizes after successfully throwing the most footballs into an oversized Dr Pepper can in 30 seconds.

"I am extremely thankful for the opportunity Dr Pepper provided me, and it is even more incredible that I got to be a part of the 10th anniversary of the program," said SEC Championship winner, Alina Scarlett. "Dr Pepper has been unbelievably generous through this whole process, and it is very clear they truly care about us students and our education."

This year's $100,000 tuition grand prize winners include the Big Ten Championship's Caleb Lines from Nashua, Iowa, studying agricultural studies at Wartburg College.

"The Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway is so much more than a head-to-head throwing competition at halftime of a football game -- it's a stepping stone for young, hardworking students to pursue their career goals," said Derek Dabrowski, vice president of Dr Pepper Brand Marketing at Keurig Dr Pepper. "Over the last ten years, the Tuition Giveaway program has impacted the lives of many students across the country. Dr Pepper has a longstanding commitment to college football and its fans and we look forward to continuing the momentum for years to come."
