Agricultural leaders are encouraging the U.S. Senate to move forward with a budget resolution that includes $12 billion in economic assistance for farmers and ranchers.
The funding proposal was approved by the House of Representatives and is intended to help producers cope with ongoing challenges affecting the agricultural economy. Industry representatives say the measure would provide needed support during a period of financial stress for many farming operations.
