The annual meeting of the Northeast Iowa Agricultural Experimental Association will be held March 13 at Iowa State University’s Northeast Research and Demonstration Farm, near Nashua.
David Miller, consulting chief economist for Decision Innovation Solutions, Mark Licht, associate professor in agronomy and cropping systems specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach, and Michael Castellano, Iowa State professor and lead, Iowa Nitrogen Initiative, will speak at the farm's Borlaug Learning Center.
The program starts at 9:30 a.m. with the board meeting. Miller will share his insights of the sustainable and biofuels market with his presentation at 10 a.m. titled “Sustainable Aviation Fuel and Ethanol, What Iowa Has to Gain (or Lose).”
In the next hour, Licht will discuss the current research findings of short stature corn. During lunch, Ken Pecinovsky, farm superintendent, will review 2023 research trial results conducted at the farm and discuss future research plans. Castellano will wrap up the presentations at 1 p.m. with an update of the Iowa Nitrogen Initiative.
