In 2022, Kossuth County was the largest oat-producing county in Iowa with 206,000 bushels, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Allamakee County was second with 167,000. Dubuque County was the third-largest oat-producing county with 155,000 bushels.
The highest yielding county was Kossuth with an average of 117.0 bushels per acre harvested. O’Brien County had the second-highest yield at 108.9 bushels per acre. The lowest yielding county was Davis at 42.7. Van Buren had the second lowest yield at 50.8.
