"Senator Ernst has been a fierce advocate for agriculture and biofuels, prioritizing Iowa farmers and keeping the U.S. a dominant energy leader. IRFA members look forward to working with the Senator as chair of the subcommittee while she continues to champion higher biofuel blends and opening up new markets for farmers at home and abroad. Expanding the production and use of biofuels is the single best tool we have to enhance rural economies," said Monte Shaw, Executive Director of the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association.
"We are supportive of Senator Ernst's chairmanship of the Subcommittee on Rural Development, Energy, and Credit. We are confident that the Senator will advocate for policies that create access to the tools and resources Iowa farmers and rural communities need to thrive. We look forward to continue working with her to position soybean growers for success,” said Brent Swart, Iowa Soybean Association President and farmer from Spencer.
Ernst has consistently worked to advance biofuels, improve fuel infrastructure, and enhance rural resources. She has supported expanding renewable fuel options such as E15 and B20 and has promoted sustainable aviation fuel development. Additionally, she has worked to improve rural access to essential services, including disaster recovery resources, propane storage, and childcare.
With her leadership in the subcommittee, Ernst aims to continue advocating for policies that benefit farmers and rural communities, ensuring their long-term success and economic growth.
