High school students in Iowa eyeing agricultural studies post-graduation have a golden opportunity. The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation extends a $2,500 renewable scholarship to 27 deserving students annually. This renewable scholarship can amount to $10,000 over four years.
To qualify, applicants must maintain a good-standing tie to an Iowa Farm Bureau membership, possess a minimum 2.5 GPA, and secure admission to an accredited higher education institution.
The application, due by Jan. 31, 2024, entails an essay highlighting extracurriculars, community service, commitment to agriculture, and two character reference letters. Successful applicants compete not only for the state scholarship but also county-level opportunities. Each county Farm Bureau selects one student for consideration for the state award. Furthermore, three students from each of Iowa Farm Bureau's nine districts receive this scholarship.
In addition to the $2,500 state scholarship, eligible students can vie for the Daniel Johnson Memorial Scholarship and the Edward W. & Isabelle M. Klodt Memorial Scholarship, each offering $500.
This exceptional opportunity promises support and financial aid for those dedicated to shaping the future of agriculture. Apply and seize this chance for academic and professional growth in the agricultural sphere.
