Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 7 cents this week with a statewide average of $5.16.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.95 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $88.85.
Brent crude oil fell $.52 and currently priced at $95.14.
One year ago, WTI crude sold for $83.91 and Brent crude was at $84.42.
As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.53 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 2 cents from last week's price and $.34 higher than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.77 up 1 cent from last week's price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 7 cents this week with a statewide average of $5.16. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.49 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 15 cents less than the national average of $5.31.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.69 for U87-E10, $3.21 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.83 for ULSD#2, $4.19 for ULSD#1, and $2.89 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Propane prices were down 1 cent with a statewide average of $1.92 per gallon.
Home heating oil prices fell 8 cents, with a statewide average of $4.72 per gallon.
Natural gas prices rose 5 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $6.14/MMbtu
