On November 7, Cindy Axne, the Senior Advisor for Rural Delivery, Engagement, and Prosperity at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), made a groundbreaking announcement in Mason City, Iowa. She revealed an ethanol grant presented to Golden Grain Energy LLC, a local facility renowned for its production of ethanol and distillers' grains used in livestock feed. This grant represents a significant leap towards enhancing the availability of domestic biofuels, reducing dependence on foreign oil, and broadening the options for cleaner fuels available to American consumers.
Members of the media were invited to the facility entrance to meet with Cindy Axne and ask questions for 15 minutes. Reporters were also given the opportunity to register for access to photograph the area where grain is received.
This strategic investment by the USDA is fully aligned with the ongoing efforts of the Biden-Harris Administration, aimed at advancing rural prosperity, fostering economic development, nurturing healthy competition, and promoting sustainability.
The key figures in this announcement were Cindy Axne, USDA RD Senior Advisor, and Theresa Greenfield, USDA RD State Director in Iowa. They emphasized the positive impact of higher blend fuels on the agricultural industry in Iowa.
