The USDA’s Federal Milk Marketing Order (FMMO) hearing is well underway, and the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) is pleased with the progress made so far. The hearing is focusing on areas that NMPF identified as key areas of improvement to FMMOs, and the federation is confident that its proposed modernization plan will provide the greatest benefit to the dairy industry as a whole.
NMPF is aware that some parties may have vested interests in the outcome of the hearing, and that their proposals may not be in the best interests of the dairy industry as a whole. However, the federation is committed to defending its consensus plan, which was developed with input from farmers, cooperative analysts, and industry-leading economists.
NMPF is confident that its proposal is the best way to modernize FMMOs and create a fairer, more robust system of milk pricing for dairy farmers. The federation is prepared to answer tough questions and defend its plan, and it is confident that the hearing will ultimately result in positive changes for the dairy industry.
