Biodiesel Marketer of the Year Awarded to Casey's

FUELIowa applauded convenience store chain Casey's for receiving the 2022 Biodiesel Marketer of the Year Award from the Iowa Department of Agriculture. Casey's--also known as Casey's General Stores, Inc.-- was presented with the award this week at FUELIowa's 2022 Annual Meeting in Des Moines by Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig.

Nominated by FUELIowa because of the company's investment in the sale and marketing of biodiesel, Casey's is a longtime supporter of renewable fuels, offering homegrown biodiesel blends and B11 throughout the company's 1,000+ stores located in the Midwest and South. Moreover, Casey's continues to pursue higher biodiesel blends and is transitioning its fleet vehicles in Iowa to run on B5.

"Renewable fuels create additional markets for agricultural products and jobs in rural communities. Consumers benefit from cleaner-burning fuels and more choices at the pump," stated Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig. "I'm pleased to present the renewable fuels marketing awards to DANLEE Corp and Casey's General Stores for their efforts to increase access to and demand for ethanol and biodiesel."

The Iowa Department of Agriculture's Biodiesel Marketer of the Year Award recognizes fuel retailers who have gone above and beyond in their marketing efforts to sell renewable fuels, including ethanol and biodiesel. Iowa was recently ranked the number one state in the nation for the production of ethanol and biodiesel. Headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa, Casey's has long been a staple in Iowa's rural communities.

"FUELIowa would like to congratulate Casey's for being an outstanding marketer of biodiesel," stated Ronald N. Langston, FUELIowa President and CEO.

"Casey's has not only promoted biodiesel at their locations but has expanded the choices available to consumers. This award is greatly deserved."

FUELIowa extends heartfelt congratulations to Casey's. The association is proud of the company's work, which supports the growth of renewable fuels as well as the Iowans, who grow and produce feedstocks used to make biodiesel.

Formed in 1937, FUELIowa represents Iowa's fuel industry by advocating innovative and quality fuel options, consumer and environmental protection and fairness in the marketplace. Members include fuel distributors, fuel cooperatives, convenience and grocery stores, refiners, biofuel producers and many other businesses that support these companies. They are invested in bringing the best gasoline, diesel, propane, ethanol, biodiesel and other liquid fuels to Iowans.
