Agoro Carbon is taking a significant step in supporting farmers' sustainability efforts by introducing legumes into their cover crop mix. This new practice expands their carbon market offerings, allowing legacy farmers who are already utilizing cover crop strategies to join the Agoro Carbon Alliance and receive payments for their carbon sequestration efforts.
The inclusion of legumes not only provides carbon credit benefits but also enhances the overall cover crop benefits. Clay Craighton, Agoro Carbon's strategic accounts manager, explains that they will assess a farmer's previous practices to determine their eligibility for the program.
To assist farmers throughout the process, Agoro Carbon has dedicated regional agronomists and an online knowledge hub. These resources ensure that farmers receive support at every step of their journey towards sustainable practices and carbon sequestration.
With this innovative initiative, Agoro Carbon is making it easier for farmers to participate in carbon markets and contribute to environmental preservation. By integrating legumes into cover crops, Agoro Carbon continues to drive positive change within the agricultural community.
