The price of regular unleaded gasoline rose 12 cents, averaging $4.35 across Iowa according to AAA.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $5.53 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $116.35.
Brent crude oil rose $2.87 and currently priced at $117.49.
One year ago, WTI crude sold for $63.58 and Brent crude was at $70.03.
As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $4.35 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices rose 12 cents from last week's price and $1.47 higher than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $4.67, up 7 cents from last week's price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 3 cents this week with a statewide average of $5.17. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.05 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 37 cents less than the national average of $5.54.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $3.61 for U87-E10, $4.07 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $4.06 for ULSD#2, $4.21 for ULSD#1, and $3.16 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Natural gas prices fell 90 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $8.33/MMbtu.
