Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host its annual Stateline Dairy and Ag Outlook Seminar on Tuesday, June 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Empty Nest Winery in Waukon, Iowa. The seminar provides essential insights into market trends and risk management for agricultural lenders, advisers, and producers.
“Price risk management continues to be a major variable for profitability in many commodity enterprises,” said Jennifer Bentley, ISU dairy field specialist. “Understanding the ag markets and strategies to allow the next generation to continue farming is a necessary part of lender portfolio management.”
This year’s agenda includes presentations from regional experts on topics such as:
- Dairy Market Outlook – Matt Tranel, Ever.Ag
- Farm Transition Strategies – Nathan Hulinsky, University of Minnesota Extension
- Climate Outlook – Madelynn Wuestenberg, ISU Extension
- Ag Market Outlook – Joseph Lensing, ISU Extension
- Iowa Dairy Survey Results – Jennifer Bentley, ISU Extension
The seminar aims to help participants better support dairy and ag producers in a changing industry landscape, emphasizing strategies for financial planning and generational farm transition.
Cost to attend is $75 for agricultural lenders and service providers and $25 for dairy producers, farmers, and students. Lenders are encouraged to invite their clients to attend.
Pre-registration is required. To sign up or get more information, contact Jennifer Bentley or Allie McIntyre at the ISU Extension Winneshiek County Office at 563-382-2949, or email jbentley@iastate.edu or alliemc@iastate.edu.
