Northwest Iowa livestock forum called off

Northwest Iowa livestock forum called off

By Andi Anderson

The upcoming Northwest Iowa Livestock Forum, originally set for June 26 at Dordt University’s Agriculture Stewardship Center, has been canceled in light of recent flooding in the region.

This decision aims to ensure the safety of livestock producers and their livestock.

Organized by ISU Extension and Outreach, the forum was anticipated to gather local livestock producers for discussions and updates on industry trends and practices.

However, due to the unforeseen circumstances caused by the flooding, the event has been postponed indefinitely.

For those seeking more information or updates regarding the forum's rescheduling, they are encouraged to contact ISU Extension and Outreach Beef Specialist Beth Doran at (712) 737-4230. Further details on the new date and location for the forum will be provided as they become available.

The cancellation underscores the challenges posed by natural disasters in agricultural communities, emphasizing the need for flexible planning and swift response to ensure the safety and well-being of both farmers and livestock.

The ISU Extension and Outreach team remains committed to supporting livestock producers during these challenging times, prioritizing safety and effective communication in their outreach efforts.
