The price of regular unleaded gasoline rose 33 cents, averaging $4.68 across Iowa according to AAA.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $4.93 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $121.28.
Brent crude oil rose $5.19 and currently priced at $122.68.
One year ago, WTI crude sold for $70.05 and Brent crude was at $71.39.
As of Wednesday, he price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $4.68 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices rose 33 cents from last week's price and $1.81 higher than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $4.96, up 29 cents from last week's price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa were up 12 cents this week with a statewide average of $5.29. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.06 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 43 cents less than the national average of $5.72.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $3.89 for U87-E10, $4.43 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $4.42 for ULSD#2, $4.58 for ULSD#1, and $3.31 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Natural gas prices rose $1.26 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $9.59/MMbtu.
