Livestock farmers, and in particular dairy operations, can supplement their income by adopting carbon-smart practices and capitalizing on credits for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions.
Jackie Klippenstein, senior vice president and chief government affairs and industry officer for Dairy Farmers of America, told an engaged crowd at the American Farm Bureau Federation Convention in Salt Lake City Jan. 21 that farmers should investigate opportunities now because current incentives may not be available down the road.
