Ken Hartman Jr. Elected First Vice President of National Corn Growers Association

The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) has chosen Ken Hartman Jr. as its next first vice president, effective October 1, 2023. A fifth-generation farmer from Waterloo, Iowa, Hartman operates a grain farm alongside his family and has been actively involved in the adoption of precision farming technologies.

Hartman, along with his wife, daughter, and mother, manages a diverse farming operation that includes specialty crops such as tofu soybeans and white corn. Their commitment to agricultural innovation and sustainable practices has positioned them as early adopters in the field.

Expressing his gratitude, Hartman said, "I'm honored to have the opportunity to serve America's corn farmers through the NCGA. I look forward to collaborating with fellow officers to address the crucial issues facing corn growers and rural communities."

In addition to his upcoming role as first vice president, Hartman currently chairs the NCGA Finance Committee and previously served as co-chair of the 2023 Commodity Classic committee. His contributions to the industry were recognized in 2021 when he received the prestigious Master Farmer award from Prairie Farmer magazine.

On October 1, Tom Haag of Minnesota will assume the position of chairman, while the current first vice president, Harold Wolle of Minnesota, will become NCGA president. In October 2024, Wolle will transition to chairman, and Ken Hartman will take on the role of president, furthering his commitment to advancing the interests of corn farmers across the nation.
