Iowa Regular Unleaded Gas Down Six-Cents



The price of regular unleaded gasoline fell 6 cents, averaging $4.70 across Iowa according to AAA.

The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $15.50 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $102.51.

Brent crude oil fell $12.36 and currently priced at $108.08.

One year ago, WTI crude sold for $73.06 and Brent crude was at $74.92.

As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $4.70 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 6 cents from last week's price and $1.83 higher than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $4.96, down 5 cents from last week's price.

Retail diesel prices in Iowa were up 11 cents this week with a statewide average of $5.44. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.06 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 37 cents less than the national average of $5.81.

Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.

The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $3.62 for U87-E10, $4.18 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $4.43 for ULSD#2, $4.61 for ULSD#1, and $3.20 per gallon for E-70 prices.

Natural gas prices fell $.84 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $6.77/MMbtu.

Continuing throughout the summer months, we will only report retail heating oil and propane prices in Iowa once a month.
