The Iowa Farm Bureau has recently praised the Iowa Legislature and Governor Reynolds for enacting legislation that will protect property taxpayers and support agriculture in the state. The new legislation includes growth limitations on local governments to slow down the future growth of property taxes, and the Iowa Legislature has also reaffirmed its commitment to current property taxpayer protections, such as state appropriations for property tax credits and property tax replacement payments.
The Farm Bureau members have also welcomed the legislature's actions to expand the scope of practice for veterinary technicians through the state veterinary practice code. With the veterinarian access bill, veterinary technicians will be able to perform expanded practices for livestock medical care, providing additional resources for Iowa farmers.
Furthermore, the Iowa Farm Bureau has commended the legislature for its continued funding commitment to water quality and conservation practices, including the Conservation Cost Share Program and Water Quality Initiative in the Ag and Natural Resources Budget and Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Fund (RIIF).
These measures are aimed at ensuring that the agricultural industry in Iowa is protected and sustainable for years to come. The Iowa Farm Bureau's appreciation for the Iowa Legislature and Governor Reynolds' efforts to support property taxpayers, improve veterinary care, and promote water quality progress has been welcomed by many in the industry.
