Hunter Hired as Regional Director for Extension and Outreach



Sara Hunter has accepted the position of regional director with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach serving Kossuth, Winnebago, Hancock and Wright counties in northern Iowa. She begins the position Oct. 10. As regional director, Hunter will provide administrative leadership to county extension offices and guidance to county extension councils.

Hunter has held management positions with Vermeer Corporation, including over eight years of experience building the Vermeer Corporation brand at Iowa State University and engaging faculty with funded research projects. She also developed and executed strategic outreach plans. As an elected board member and leader for the Ames Chamber of Commerce Board, she realized the value and importance of inclusion at all levels that upholds the development of the next generation and sustainable growth into the future. She has a passion for agriculture and rural development.

"Sara Hunter brings expertise and passion for developing strategies that will make her communities successful. We are pleased she has accepted the role of regional director," said Andrea Nelson, assistant vice president with ISU Extension and Outreach. "We congratulate and welcome her to Iowa State University Extension and Outreach."

Hunter received a bachelor's degree in animal science from Iowa State University and a master's degree in business administration from University of Phoenix Online.
