Hailee Sandberg has been named the regional director for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, serving Linn County. This appointment marks a structural change for the county, with Sandberg set to begin her new role on August 30.
As regional director, she will provide administrative leadership to the county extension office staff and offer guidance to the county extension council.
Previously, Sandberg served as the county director for ISU Extension and Outreach in Linn County, where she led strategic planning initiatives and supervised the county staff.
Her background includes co-ownership and a leadership role at Sandberg Farms & MH Sandberg Trucking Inc., a multi-county farming operation and bulk commodities trucking company.
Her extensive experience in leadership roles extends to her time as a regional director for Let Me Run Inc., where she managed all logistical aspects for the organization in eastern Iowa, and as a program manager for Girls on the Run of Eastern Iowa.
“Hailee has demonstrated high levels of multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. She approaches challenges as opportunities for growth, all of which are a good fit for the role of a regional director,” said Andrea Welchans, assistant vice president for extension and outreach at ISU. “We congratulate her and welcome her to her new position with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.”
Sandberg holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and a master’s degree in strategic leadership from Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids. Her academic and professional background positions her well to lead the Linn County extension office into its next phase of growth and service to the community.
As she steps into this new role, Sandberg is expected to continue her commitment to excellence in leadership and community engagement, ensuring that Linn County's extension services are well-equipped to meet the needs of local farmers, businesses, and residents.
