A special group of 43 FFA Alumni, aged 18 to 24, from 21 states across the USA, is getting ready for the exciting New Century Farmer Conference happening in Des Moines, Iowa, from July 23 to 27. This fantastic event is all about college students who dream of a career in farming.
The New Century Farmer program gives former FFA members a peek into the world of farming businesses. The participants have different interests in agriculture, like owning their farms, starting their businesses, or working with animals.
Allie Ellis, the National FFA Alumni and Supporters associate director, thinks this program is fantastic for the alumni. She says, "At the conference, students can learn so much about farming from the experts and discover how to have a successful career in agriculture."
Agriculture is essential for our country. It provides jobs for lots of people, and the New Century Farmer Conference wants to help the industry grow even more. People all around the world benefit from agriculture.
