Get ready for the 2024 Farm Transitions Conference set to take place on February 8th and 9th at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Ames. Hosted by the Beginning Farmer Center at Iowa State University, this event aims to equip farmers with valuable insights into farm transitions and estate planning.
This two-day event boasts over 15 expert presenters, including attorneys, farm management specialists, and experienced farmers. The theme, “Sowing Success,” encompasses comprehensive discussions on a range of topics relevant to farm transitions and estate planning.
Day one, scheduled for February 8th, will delve into transition planning, while the focus on February 9th shifts to estate planning. Kitt Tovar Jensen, the manager of the Beginning Farmer Center at Iowa State, emphasizes the program's aim to help attendees navigate the complexities of family businesses. The conference also aims to foster connections with professionals, governmental agencies, and agricultural organizations providing crucial support.

The estate planning sessions will cover critical aspects such as wills, trusts, taxation, farmland appraisals, and communication strategies.
