Farm Bureau launches Grain Price Comparison Tool

Farm Bureau launches Grain Price Comparison Tool

The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation has unveiled a new Grain Price Comparison Tool aimed at assisting farmers in their grain marketing decisions. This online tool provides farmers with access to real-time cash bids for both corn and soybeans within a 60-mile radius of their chosen zip code, with a 10-minute delay to ensure the data is up to date.

In addition to current cash bid information, the tool also offers historical charts depicting cash bids and basis levels. These historical charts give farmers valuable insights into seasonal trends at local co-ops, ethanol plants, and feed mills.

This tool is exclusively available to members of the Farm Bureau and is the first of its kind in Iowa. Its primary goal is to empower farmers with the information they need to make informed choices about how to market their crops.

Here's how it works:

Farmers input their zip code and select the specific grain they are interested in.

The tool then displays a comprehensive list of cash bids from grain facilities located within a 60-mile radius of the chosen zip code.

Farmers can also access historical charts that show cash bids and basis levels over time.

The benefits of using this tool include:

Convenience: Farmers can access both real-time and historical market data in one centralized location, eliminating the need to navigate between multiple websites or apps.

Accuracy: The tool sources data from a wide range of grain facilities, ensuring that farmers have access to the most precise and up-to-date information available.

Unbiasedness: As the tool is provided by the Farm Bureau, a non-profit organization representing the interests of farmers, users can trust that the information is unbiased and reliable.

The Grain Price Comparison Tool is a valuable resource for farmers seeking to make well-informed decisions about how to market their crops efficiently and profitably.
