An EPA webinar will focus on toxic plants in the carrot family (Apiaceae -- giant hogweed, wild and cow parsnip, poison and spotted water hemlock) and how they compare to a nontoxic family member (Queen Anne's lace). Sap from these toxic plants can affect people's health, as well as harm animals that eat them. Learn where these plants are found and how to identify and manage them. "Identifying and Managing Toxic Plants" is a free webinar intended for landscape professionals, grounds and park managers, foresters and arborists.

Another upcoming EPA IPM training opportunity is Dec. 6 entitled "There's a Fly in My Soup -- Integrated Pest Management in Restaurants." Restaurants feed people. Unfortunately, they can also be a breeding ground for pests, which find food, water and shelter there. This webinar will highlight the major pests found in restaurants and sustainable strategies to prevent and control them. Tentative presenters include Tim Stock (Oregon State University), Dawn Gouge (University of Arizona) and the National Pest Management Association representative.
