Cover Crop and Soil Health Field Days Planned for November

Iowa Learning Farms will host a series of cover crop and soil health field days across the state during November. The events are free, open to farmers and landowners and include a complimentary meal.

These field days aim to equip attendees with best management practices for establishing and managing cover crops. Cover crops offer many benefits to farmers and landowners, including reduced soil erosion, weed suppression potential, reduced nitrogen and phosphorus loads entering water bodies, and increased organic matter in the soil. Additional on-farm demonstrations of conservation practices will take place at their respective field days.Young cover crops emerging.
