Craig McEnany, an ag educator at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), has been awarded the 2023 Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award by the Iowa Farm Bureau. His dedication to creating hands-on learning opportunities and raising funds for the Iowa FFA has significantly impacted the lives of countless students.
From Probation to Prosperity:
- Upon joining DMACC, McEnany found a platform to share his industry experience and witnessed the Agribusiness program grow from 30 students to a thriving 215-student program.
- His leadership and vision were instrumental in planning and fundraising for the Iowa FFA Enrichment Center, providing a valuable learning space for students and expanding the curriculum with a production unit.
- McEnany's dedication to inclusion has led to a shift in program demographics, with a balanced 50:50 male-to-female ratio, creating an environment where all students can flourish.
